Last week one of the day care mother's dropped off her little girl at day care. Her kid had a fever and she was leaving medicine for our day care lady to dose her kid with. I didn't say anything, and maybe I should have, but day care rules state that we aren't to bring our kid to day care if they've got a fever. I've never done it. I've always kept the baby monster home when she's sick.

Then I come to find out that just this week one of the little boys in the baby monster's class threw up in class. He'd been there most of the day, touching things, interacting with the kids in class, and that he'd been complaining all day that he wasn't feeling well.

The baby monster was sick last week with a slight cold. She seemed to have gotten over it except for an annoying cough, and some phlegm she's been trying to get rid of. The other day she came home from school with a rough throat and some congestion, and that night she woke me up because she had to puke. I figured she'd just had to get rid of all the phlegm or something. Too bad she woke up this morning with a fever of 102. Took her to the dr. Turns out she's got an ear and throat infection (probably still a cold). Stayed home with her all day today pushing water and medicine on the poor kid.

I am a bit put out that I've had to miss two days of work (one last week and today) because she's been getting sick. I wish people would stop sending their sick kids to school.

I feel pretty horrible wishing that my kid gets over this cold/infection whatever by tomorrow so I can send her to school so I can go to work. On top of that, I've got a continuing education seminar that I'm registered to attend tomorrow afternoon for my manager certificate for the apartments. I don't really want to miss it.

I know most parents wish their kids don't get sick at all; I just wish she'd gotten sick on any other week but this one. x.x

Also, on a whole completely different note, mom has been gone the last ten days to the Philippines for her sister's funeral. I'm not afraid to admit its been pretty damn nice to have had the whole house to just myself and the baby monster the last week and a half.
